It's no secret that I live, breath, and dream weddings. But every so often, a unique opportunity comes along that allows me to expand my creativity and keep my skills up to date, not to mention staying on top of the latest trends in floral design. Recently my long time colleague and friend, Gaby of the popular food blog "What's Gaby Cooking" was asked to design a dinner using Williams Sonoma products. She created a cantina style dinner party, and we were tickled pink to create the florals for this intimate dinner. The images are on her blog and it's a stunner! This blog post should inspire you to gather your closest friends and put together a cantina party of your own. It's easier than you think. Gabby shares her recipes on her blog, allowing you to replicate this delicious summer menu. Don't forget the flowers to polish off your table. I would love to make them for you!
Memento Mori is the medieval Latin theory and practice of reflection on mortality. In art visual items are used such as clocks, hourglasses and herbs. which emphasize Heaven, Hell, and salvation of the soul in the afterlife.
This was the inspiration for another exciting collaboration with Kristeen LaBrot of Kristeen LaBrot Weddings & Events. Our design would be part of a design challenge at Sherwood Country Club, put on by Luxe Linen for their Luxe Launch that showcased their new linen collection. The basis for our inspiration was a moss green velvet linen. Memento Mori was Kristeen's muse and together we created something very special.
The new Spring issue of California Wedding Day Magazine hit the stands and boy is it gorgeous! The issue is brimming with inspiration from catering, gowns, venue and of course floral design. We are so honored to be featured in a DESIGN INSPIRATION SPREAD that spans six pages. The feature is called CALIFORNIA LOVE and the overall design was created by AT YOUR DOOR EVENTS, led by owners Sara Holland and Jenny Goodman. For them to give me the opportunity to be part of this feature is beyond exciting. I've always been a fan of the magazine and to have my floral designs leap off the pages fills me with overwhelming joy. I love being able to share this with you. Enjoy every last detail that was captured by Joel Maus of Studio EMP Photography.
Jenny and Sara brought it to this feature and the whole team hit it out of the park, as you can see. Here is the line-up that brought CALIFORNIA LOVE to life:

I live and breathe design and when award winning wedding designer and planner Kristeen LaBrot asks to collaborate I always jump at the opportunity. Kristeen's weddings are always unique in theme and filled with carefully thought out details. Our couple Jessica and Marty had dreams of a Midsummer Night's Dream combined with a gypsy sensibility. From the gown to the bride's entrance on a white horse with gold hooves, this wedding was visual eye candy. Green Wedding Shoes thought so too, and featured it on their blog.
Kristeen pulled together a vendor list to be envied, and we're proud to be part of it:

The Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy has set imaginations on fire since the books were released. In true Hollywood style the first movie has been released on Valentines Day. With all the press hype about the opening, a few of my colleagues became inspired.
Photographer Kristina Lee and Graphic Designer Chanda Alicante dreamed up the concept of creating a photo shoot that would depict the wedding of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steel. With ideas fresh in their minds, they began to put together the dream team they needed to make this project over the top. I couldn't have been more thrilled when they chose me to be their floral designer. The venue had to depict Christian Grey's world above the cityscape of Seattle. Our own Downtown Los Angeles skyline became our muse, and the creativity took hold.
What an honor it was to be part of such an all-star team. They weaved their magic to make this photo shoot so stunningly perfect. California Wedding Day Magazine agreed with us, and featured our shoot on their blog a few days before the movie release. Without further adieu, enjoy our depiction of The Grey's stunning wedding day.
The creative team that completed this shoot gave 150% to every detail. When you are looking for the best in the business, please don't hesitate to contact them for your own wedding needs:
